Neither would I, but sounds like there were little few options. Hang out at airport or in hotel lobby?
It would seem like DL or any other airline would be putting themselves in a position to potentially have a lawsuit brought against them if something like rape, battery, theft occurred between these strangers. Also, I assume they paired same sex partners, which would take some coordinating. I imagine there were several lucky individuals who got their own rooms.
