Happened to us back in September returning HKG-DFW-PSP where somehow I UG'd 5 hours before the DFW-PSP flight and SO somehow showed as 3 on airport monitors in DFW with no empty F seats. Agent had no explanation.Wife sat in 3A while I sat in 8B on the MD 80. Just makes life easier if I screw up on her birthday!
