Just average Joe here. I've been with AirNZ just b/c I had a GlobalPlus card since 1998 where they were still on the mileage system. I haven't really looked into until that recent news Qantas ANZ card got a reduction so I did some maths.

But ... is the Qantas card easier to score award flights? If one did AKL - SYD - HKG and back that is 7,200 both direction (edited) on the "earn" and I need 96,000 to burn the same flight. That is about 13 trips purchased. Velocity does it in 7. The overeas programmes, some are around 6 or 7 right.
