Transferring at AMS into an Iberia Flight

Hi All,

First time poster here - just wanted some opinions and thoughts on an itinerary that my friend has. Not sure if this is the appropriate forum since it concerns IB and BA equally. Mods, please feel free to move if necessary.

He has booked AMS-MAD-SCL to travel in December 27th. He is based in LON so he needs a positioning flight to AMS.

What do people think about the suitability of a 2 hour transfer window within AMS? Assuming the bags are checked through to SCL from LHR or LCY.

I know that he will need to go through passport control as he is going to a Schengen Country so this will make even tighter to connect.

He is currently eyeing up booking the first BA flight out of LCY which arrives at 10am in AMS.

If the bags are not interlined then I presume there will not enough time to retrieve and check in the bags again?

Any thoughts and opinions are welcome. Worst case scenario would be to travel the night before to AMS.

/AE
