Having had something damaged by an airline recently in checked luggage, caused by the TSA repacking the item stupidly, I must wonder: Has anyone here made a claim to the TSA? Do they pay up? Or is it just easier to make the claim to the airline and let them wear it despite it really being mostly the TSA's fault?
(This, of course, is the thing I hate most about the TSA's stupid way of doing things. In a situation such as this, both and TSA and the airline are partly at fault, which makes it quite easy for each to simply point the finger at the other. Any sensible screening of bags with passengers present would be faster, cheaper and prevent all these problems.)</font>
My $50 claim for a toiletries bag and it's content has gone nowhere, no one outside the TSA wants to help... No one within the TSA has a clue.
I'm so PISSED off that I've wasted 3+ months on this and gotten nowhere. The $50 isn't the point, it's the fact that an item was taken out of my bag and they insist somehow I'M AT FAULT. I really do with the GAO would look at the seriously.
