Anyone who had A3*G at the termination of the old programme on November 23 [and this includes those who took qualifying flights in the final days/hours of the old programme, and who would qualify for A3*G under the old rules when those miles eventually post to their accounts in the days/weeks after November 23] will be given a new, fixed, one-year requalification period.

Anyone who is Gold at the launch of the new programme will have from 24/11/2014 until 23/11/2015 to requalify for Gold.

Should you fail to requalify during this year, you will lose your A3*G status sometime in the weeks after 23/11/2015 (it is unlikely to be immediate - they will probably issue a card with, say, a month or two's extra validity - probably to 31/12/2015. We don't know.

But, in short, once the new programme launches, you will have ONE YEAR of status, and you must requalify in each subsequent one year period to extend status by a further year.
