I personally didn't buy a 3 day ticket because I wasn't sure how much transportation I would be using. IME once you're in the area of town you're going to you will walk quite a bit, meaning only a couple metro/bus/whatever trips per day.
I'd get an Octopus at the airport and just load it with 200 HKD.
