Married Segments- Can I Pay to cancel one leg???

Hi,

I need some help please, I have a booking already made from MAN to NYC on a advance fare in economy, o class. I have been called to go to Madrid for work at the last minute and I don't land back in London City until the evening before, all flights are with BA, flight details below

Madrid to London City- Land at 6pm-Wednesday 5th Nov

Manchester to Heathrow- 8am departure- Thursday 6th Nov

Heathrow to NYC- 11am departure- Thursday 6th Nov

1. I want to cancel the first leg MAN to LHR and stay in London to catch the second leg as this makes more sense rather than travelling back to Manchester to go back to London the next day, they are married segments though MAN-JFK, will BA let me cancel leg 1 to just catch the second flight if I pay a change fee? I would really like a divorce!!!

2. If the incoming Madrid flight is late and I miss the last train to Manchester Airport, even though they are seperate bookings and contractually don't have to do anything, will BA help me out in any way as all flights are with BA?(eg. Just letting me fly from LHR)?

3. If I don't turn up for leg 1 then I assume that BA would cancel my entire booking?

Is there anything that you could suggest I could do or am I stuck hoping that BA and Virgin Trains stay on schedule that day!!!

Thanks
