The room did suffer some noise from outside traffic as the windows are old and not double glazed, however this didn't bother me as I was so tired.
Sauna was not working, steam room was nice as was pool area but not a relaxing experience as there was loads of screaming kids running around.
BREAKFAST - apparently this was free due to an offer?- however I wish I didn't bother!.........shown to table by surly guy " sit there" he said.....no idea if tea , coffee served to table?, where food was ,etc........I find waiter he asked tea or coffee , returned 10 mins later with tea for my lady.
Off we go to get some granola ( this was nice)...... Then off to get cooked food , this was stone cold, not warm, STONE COLD!...... Told waiter , he mumbled something and disappeared .......gave up and ordered two cappuccinos , after ten mins I ask where they are ......." They will be around 15 minutes sir , machine is busy".......I was now getting angry......we left the restaurant in disgust and complained to guest relations desk.....here I was ignored whilst she tapped away at her keyboard ......eventually she looked up....and I explained the whole affair to her......she wasn't really interested and said she would have two cappuccinos sent up to my room whilst we pack ( I had a long drive to Leeds to do)........ Guess what?.....yup, they turned up cold!......on check out the receptionist asked if I enjoyed my stay..... I kinda explained again but I just wanted to go by then.....he said they had many complaints about breakfast that morning and comped my parking.....and off I go.
Yes one could argue that I got free breakfast as it's not part of the brand standard for WA , however this was an embarrassment to the Hilton group and shouldn't happen.
Wow, the exact opposite of my experiences there, must have been an off day!
