What does your ticket status on aa.com say: Pending, On request or ticketed? If pending/on request then you are absolutely going to have to rebook w/more miles, etc.. If ticketed you *might* be OK - but, frankly, if you don't get this fixed now you may be SOL at the airport.
If AA agrees to a free change - then its going to be on a legal routing, meaning US to EU direct. They aren't going to be able to make CX accept the mistake.
Oh no, sorry I didn't make that clear. My itinerary is JP - (HK) - EU, not from JFK. Ticket status on aa.com says: ticketed
However, I just called AA, and they just removed the cancelled CX flight and everything went back to normal. After refreshing my screen, the new itinerary got displayed again, w/stopover in HK ^
What still worried me is that my other reservation (the same itinerary for my sister) are marked "on request" for some reason... I should have checked that before hanging up the phone.
