I'm a former employee, tips were absolutely not expected, though obviously they were appreciated. If you get a friendly driver, especially one who doesn't try to sell you anything and you want to make his or her day...slip them a few bucks. Most of them are fresh out of college and wouldn't say no to the beer money.
