On Monday night, I found a good, round-trip deal from YYZ-HNL on 8/5/15 to 8/12/15 for $544 on Google flights (V-class fare)

When I went to Delta.com, the lowest price I could find was $798 RT. I called the medallion line and I was told that the $798 RT (U-class fare) price was the lowest available.

However, going through the Google flights portal allowed me to be directed to Delta.com and the flights were pricing and CONFIRMING at $544 (V-class). As I was on the phone with the agent, I told her that I currently was able to book the lower price on Delta.com via Google flights. I even received a confirmation number.

Once again, she told me that the fare was sold out and that she could not access the fare on her computer. The main point of calling the agent was to use a voucher that I had in my Delta account.

How can this be? Google flights does not have their own booking engine - I was directed back to Delta.com and was able to CONFIRM the lower price. The Delta agent should have been able to access the fare if I was able to confirm it online real time.

This is pretty deceptive on Delta's part and quite disgusting.
