Actually, the BB limit is $2500/day, not $1k. So that's only 7 trips. That said, BB is also limited to $5k/mo, so that obviously is a problem if your contractor doesn't want to wait 3-4 months for his money.
I too would love a way to be able to dump a large sum like that all at once. But if your guy won't accept CC, it is more difficult. And asking him if you can pay with 5 money orders, 1 check (from BlueBird), 1 check (from Evolve), etc, etc, can be a big hassle. He'll likely look at you as if you're crazy when you say you want to pay from 17 different sources.
