I don't know how much time you spend or have spent in Bangkok- if not a lot I would definitely spend 2 nights there.

In terms of the Conrad- I think 5 nights would be enough- we wanted to stay on Samui longer and what we did is split our time between the Four Seasons and the Conrad- which we thought was a nice way to do things and gave us two different experiences- my review is in this thread above. More than 5 nights at the Conrad I would consider a bit too long because of F&B options although YMMV. Let us know what you choose to do!
