could there also be the 'gender neutral' angle of "I would offer it to my OH" whether that's the pax's wife, husband or same-gender partner......

In a scenario like this, I might offer it to my mother. Or my father. or a friend who hasn't flown F before if we are travelling together. None of that is "sexiest", it's being a 'gentleman' (even if I say so myself lol).
