I don't know how things work in China with regard to the fiduciary duties of the CEO to shareholders, but I doubt a CEO in the US could say something like this as the CEO and exec team have a responsibility to maximize the return on shareholder value. Now, many will say that if you take care of your customers and your employees, you take care of your shareholders. I agree and I think, on a whole, Delta is working to do that.
Quite honestly, we may not like the decisions that Delta is making with regard to their FFP, but there is little evidence that Delta is falling short on its customer satisfaction, at least on a large scale.
