I recently requested a platinum challenge. Used to be platinum, but got a new boss that was dyed in the wool Hilton. I converted and was HHDiamond for the past few years. Boss left, and i'm running back to Marriott
The rep told me the platinum challenge is a "rare corporate exception" and was based on my previous platinum status and strong desire to give Marriott my business. Am in currently in mid-challenge.
