There's up to 7 BA flights to LHR every day, and up to 4 a day to AMS with KLM. There's also a daily 777 service to Dubai on Emirates, but that shouldn't compete with any traffic heading west.
So IMO the only people who would really benefit are those in the NCL catchment area whose final destination is New York and the surrounding area.
It's still useful to people who aren't flying to a BA/KLM-served US city. If you're flying to one of those places, then you have to double connect on BA/KLM.
Plus, I'm sure NYC-area dominates PDEW TATL figures for NCL.
I'm not saying the route will necessarily work, but one could have argued that BA had a stranglehold on MAN, EDI, and GLA before US-based carriers moved in with 757s and those destinations have generally worked...
Now that would be an amazing mileage run
GLA > EWR > EDI > EWR > NCL > EWR > MAN > EWR > BHX > EWR > LHR
(I'm sure someone will eventually cost it out....)
APD kills this deal unless you are doing continuous same-day turns
