The clock is ticking on the survival of the 757 jet line, as Boeing considers the costs and consequences of shutting down production of the 21-year-old jet.

Closing the line could cost around $200 million, Boeing Chairman Phil Condit said Wednesday in a conference call with financial analysts and media.
