Last couple of times through Australian arrival immigration and customs I have been told by Immigration and Customs queue herders things like "there is an Apec/Express Queue all the way down there but I'd take my bet on this line" pointing to smartgate or the regular quarantine inspection line.

Now don't get me wrong - I am all for making the service for everyone so efficient that there is no desire for a fast lane. But if there is a fast line that is moving faster I'd like to be in it.

In both cases the time to get through the process (in the regular line) was less than great but not a big problem.

Just wondering if this wide spread and if it is good advice. Have others have similar experience.
