There is a special rule regarding changing the first segment (before departure obviously) - but other than that, changes to date/time/oneworld carrier are free of charge
Say for the sake of argument I changed my SYD-NRT flight from JAL to Qantas. Even is the airline change is free of charge, presumably JAL and Qantas have different fuel surcharges and the originally ticketed JAL fuel surcharge would have been included in the total ticket price?
