I just randomly checked some fares. From my home airport to YEG is 630 miles return. Tango is $315 and latitude-- the cheapest latitude is $990. Flex is somewhere in between. At $1.50 per mile, my response to AC is "No thanks... I'll stick to the 156 miles on tango" If they cannot make a profit on these fares then there is something really wrong. Maybe I'll fly to LHR, do a stopover for my meeting ,collect the miles and be out of pocket an extra 300 dollars--without cheapening the front cabin.
