MarkBEarSF - how are getting the 18K figure?
(If the SF in your handle refers to SFO, then SFO-BUE is way less than 9,000miles each way)

While what bhomburg says is correct, it is only correct if you fly 18K miles (you'll need to fly at least 16,667 miles @ 1.5 EQP per mile, in order to make the 25K EQP for Gold status)
