DXB is probably best because there is greater capacity from London - i.e. more availability. Muscat is a much nicer place to visit (except for the visa charge

Note you can start and, open jaw, from most (if not all) BA US airports - though popular routes like SFO LHR may not have much availability. Seattle using comes up trumps.
