Here's a different perspective from someone who'll be there in a few weeks.

I'm going to use the Valet parking, so the resort fee covers something I'm using.

I'm unlikely to use the beach chairs. Why should I pay for that in my room rate if I'm not going to use it, or, if there's so few chairs that I'd have to be there at 7am to get a place (see the Four Seasons Maui for this problem)

If you don't like the fees, stay somewhere else without them. All the resorts seem to have these - I stayed at the Grand Wailea on Maui last year - Resort Fee + Mandatory Valet Parking fees + Adult Pool closed, so less space at other pools for quiet relaxing. Still, the place was packed. People are voting with their wallets, and the vote is that these fees aren't killing their business.

My new rule is to add these fees to my budget and suck it up, otherwise it spoils my expensive vacation for something I can't change.
