Emirates noted that they are having a very tough time obtaining landing slots at the most popular airports, so they have chosen A380s to maximize the number of people they can carry on each flight.

So Airbus now has half of the 250 orders they needed to recover the cost of building the plane, but is that 250 at the $200 million-plus list, or at the 30%-plus discount airlines like Emirates are getting?
