I am flying into Hanoi from KUL - 5 nights in Hanoi - got a couple of city tours sorted out, with an individual guide, main highlights of Hanoi, and a walking tour of the Old Quarter focused on the food.

Thinking of giving Halong Bay a miss, as its a 3 -4 hour trip each way on a poor road, would be ok in summer if I was doing a few days of cruising.

Fly then to Hue, old French town with lots of culture,

Drive to Danang 4 hours (private car)

Drive to Hoi An 1 hour (private car)

Back to Danang to the train to Nha Trang, (first class sitting day trip ) 5 hours

Nha Trang to HCMC flying.

tour thru the mekong delta overnight in Chau Doc then speedboat up the Mekong to Phenom Penh

Been fairly easy to organise with the internet, just type questions into google and you normally find an answer.

A couple of challenges - were solved by sending emails to the concierges at Intercontinental Hotels, where I have reservations, if they could not help they referred me to Travel Agents who could.
Thank you for this, appreciate it. Will spend some time this weekend researching reputable tour agencies mentioned in this thread as well as some reading in Tripadvisor forums and lonely planet.
