Anyone have any experience with this? admittedly I have never booked a flight through orbitz but now I am about to embark on a journey from jfk to Brazil in 2 days. From what I understand, you can sometimes check in 2 days in advance, I tried earlier and got an error saying to "not rush." This was before 48 hours so that is expected. Now i am within 48 hours and it is saying I cannot check in through LAN.com.

I'm not that concerned with checking in as much as choosing a seat. One flight is 10 hours and the other 6, and I don't have assigned seats. Can anyone clue me in as to how this works? I can't complain because my ticket was a mistake fare but I am confused by this process. I've read the thread about LAN replies. Will there be a competent person working at JFK?!@
