Sounds like the spaces you are talking about are great if you can come before 7 and camp out until 7. Would assume they will get filled up after 7:30 or so. Where should the OP park after those spots are filled or they get into the city several hours before 7?

But when I come back to my neighborhood, I never have problems parking. Never. Sure, sometimes I have to circle the block. And I don't get my choice of particular spots (no, I don't put chairs out; that's a Boston thing), but I park without difficulty.
