There is no shuttle bus service to replace the closed Government Center station, but when the Science Park station was closed for renovations for six months in 2011, shuttle bus service ran from North Station to Lechmere. But at this point there are no scheduled closures of Science Park or Lechmere.
Well, in the MBTA's defense, you can spit on Park St or Haymarket form Government center. A shuttle would actually take far longer than walking. Walking from Haymarket to Lechmere risks death by flattening or maybe even attacked by a dinosaur.
