There's an article in the Times today about this, some believe Apple's entry will be the event that turns NFC payment from novelty to norm. I wouldn't bet against that. There's certainly a buzz about Apple Pay that Google Wallet never generated. I'm personally kind of intrigued by the security aspect, including particularly the functional fingerprint ID system.
