Does anyone know, was the support of TSA Precheck by United discontinued and now I have to apply thru the TSA web site and pay the $85 fee? Will United reimburse this like they reimburse for Global Entry?

Thanks
Are you eligible for GlobalEntry? Considering GE gives you a superset of the PreCheck program I would go for that. UA has a website where you can get a credit card number to enter on your application through GEOS.

The only downside to GE that I know of is if you're in some hurry to get PreCheck back. It can take a few months to get an appointment for GE.

The only thing you can do is go through one of the two government background checks (GlobalEntry, or PreCheck) and, assuming you pass, begin putting your known traveler ID into all of your reservations. Nevermind about the wiki, it doesn't seem to cover those two programs. Check out the general information elsewhere on FT or the internet (especially travel blogs). The only UA-specific note for applying to these programs is that Platinum and above can request a "code" (credit card number that can only be authorized for the specific charge) to pay their GlobalEntry application fee.
