Don't be ridiculous. I was merely suggesting this could be a reason why BA offloaded wife rather than a random solo passenger - because as far as they were concerned, wife WAS a random solo passenger.
Had they been all on the same booking as two pax + child I think 99% of the time someone else would have been bumped, irrespective of their last names, especially as it sounded like a very small overbooking.
