Many years ago I was on an international flight with a passenger who was on an oxygen tank. Before takeoff he asked to sit in the exit row. For whatever reason, the flight attendant relented.

The scary part was that another passenger snuck a cigarette in the lavatory during the flight. Thank goodness the possible outcome didn't hit me until long after I was safely on the ground.
