On the first night of our honeymoon, next July, we will be overnighting at Schiphol having arrived on the Sunday afternoon BA flight from LCY and departing the following morning on the first BA flight of the day to LHR.

This being our honeymoon I want to ensure that the hotel will book is as top notch as it can be. I have not been to Amsterdam or Schiphol in years so the advice of the members of this board would be greatly appreciated.

My initial thoughts are that we will stay at a hotel at Schiphol for the night. Could anyone recommend anywhere? Price is no object.

My reason for initially thinking about staying at Schiphol, rather than venture into Amsterdam, is that our flight the following morning is at 7am, we will be connecting through to MIA, and therefore I wanted to ensure that we maximised sleeping time by selecting a Schiphol based hotel. Having said that if members of the board can convince me that staying in Amsterdam itself is not that much of a hassle then I could be persuaded.

FYI we arrive into AMS the day before at about 5pm. If we end up staying at Schiphol I also don't want to find that we are limited to simply the hotel for supper.
