Apologies but I am pretty clueless when it comes to air miles...

I am a silver member of royal orchid with 36,600 points. I'm flying lhr-bkk in a couple of weeks in business, I'm not sure what code as a travel agent booked it for me.

If I want to collect the miles for this flight is it advisable to link the flight to my royal orchid account? I also have colleague flying with me who isn't bothered about collecting the miles, is there any way I could link his to my card so I get them?

Lastly, what is the easiest way to work out how to spend miles? I don't find their website very easy to understand, is there a calculator or similar where you can input what points you have that tells you what you can get for them?
