It does not. However, when flying A-SYD/SYD-A, B-SYD/SYD-B and A-B/A-B frequently and you never suffer any damage on A-B/B-A but frequently on A-SYD/SYD-A and B-SYD/SYD-B, it becomes more likely that the common link to baggage damage is SYD.

The sample size is large enough to be deemed at least "worth further investigation of possibility that there is a rough baggage handling issue at SYD".

As it shows no sign of improving, I'll soon rack up 200 incidents of damage involving SYD and none at all elsewhere anyway. I'm sure it will reach a statistical significance to your satisfaction pretty soon.

In my case damage certainly has not been limited to incoming luggage at SYD. Outgoing and connecting pieces luggage have also been damaged.

I have had no problem with domestic-to-international connection and domestic-to-domestic connection, however, even if we drop the bags off in good time at the QF International to Domestic transfer counter, there have been instances (too frequent) of bags not making the flight. The QF staff members told us on separate occasions that it happens quite often there because the bags often get missed from pick-up from the international terminal and because the pick-up is infrequent, the chance of bags not making the flight ends up increasing. I don't know whether that is indeed the case or not, but we too have been inconvenienced by them.
