I don't get why AA has created this problem with iOS 7 and below. The problem lies in the way the back end is communicating with the app, which has nothing to do with the iOS version. That's why when they released the updated iOS 8 app in September the old app continued to work fine. For some reason they just today arbitrarily made their back end unable to communicate with the older app. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
