More to the point, how valuable is it to
you.
It's very much a personal thing based on your needs, what you believe is of value, and your anticipated travel for 2015.
I dropped to 75k status 2 years ago after many years of SE so had an opportunity to appreciate the differences first hand. Many things I took for granted as a SE were not automatic. Back to SE this year … and for 2015
Here were the top 5 things I missed … (in no order of priority)
1. Priority access to agents / concierges to get things back on track during IROPS
2. Almost guaranteed access to an upgrade if a seat as available (SE/MM status)
3. Pretty much guaranteed access to IKK for Y seats, and often for J
4. Close to immediate call answer when contacting AC
5. And if I was being honest with myself, feeling like AC royalty (and no, I am definitely not a DYKWIA type of person)
So, would I spend $2,500 to get to SE - out of my own pocket. It's a tough one but probably 'yes' if I knew I had a busy travel year ahead.
