I'm doing one of these ex-AMS shortly and have stupidly booked a return to AMS from LHR rather than LGW so I'm not guaranteed to get my bag back at LHR

What would you estimate as the % chance that they would refuse to check a bag to LHR rather than AMS? Would the fact that I'm taking a domestic AA flight increase or decrease this %?
