Sometimes the online agency has to fax or email over your reservation to the hotel. The reason a Reservation # is automatically entered is because it is allocated by the Hotel Central Reservation Computer for Expedia. The Hyatt Hotel has no idea of the details other than a 3 night or 4 night stay has been blocked out.

Until the Hotel gets the payment info from Expedia its put on hold. Once the fax or email has been received by the property their accounting department will update it to booked with the payment info.

Other times the Hyatt system takes time for it to populate. Other times the hotel answersback system amswers right away in live booking status when you call the hotel right away they have all the details and you can make your request.

Other times your reservation is not sent until 2 weeks before your stay.

Either way the hotel sends blocks over to Expedia with confirmation#s and Expedia pulls from the allocated block but only sends over the paid blocks in batches.

I hope this helps. And if I'm not 100 percent correct please correct me.
