Actually we are not talking upgrades here. Merely changing the reward leg to J in the unlikely case J rewards have opened up for that leg. Which they do for free if overall your reward was business class.
Last year they allowed for true upgrades on rewards, but only NA and only for SEs. This year that benefit was removed.
So strictly speaking, NO upgrades on Aeroplan rewards.
