WOW! Very impressive!

At the Hyatt, Maui we heard someone complaining because they were put in a room that was ground floor atthe entrance, overlooking the parking lot. It really was an awful room. The desk agent announced loudly that they booked through priceline or one of those and that's what they get unless they wanted to pay more to get a better room.
I've heard of this, but never experienced it myself. I've used priceline's "name your own price" for hotels quite a lot (20 or 30 times in the past 2 years) and never gotten that kind of treatment. Usually for me, a hotel room is just a clean bed to sleep in, so I don't really care much about the hotel as long as it's clean, safe, quiet, and convenient to where I want to go.
I'll take a look around for deals, thanks for all the input! Since it's not a holiday weekend in Canada, and November isn't exactly high season in Vancouver, I was really hoping to find some good deals, but haven't found anything spectacular yet.
