Another vote for Schwab. No currency conversion/foreign transaction fees, ATM rebates worldwide.

I work abroad and get paid in US Dollars to a US account and this has always been my best option. (Though I think fidelity also would work.)

I only use the checking account and my brokerage account has always had a balance of $0. I've never had any fees or problems with this.
