It's archaic, but the FAX works great if you need to contact them. I think they all have published FAX numbers. There is a beauty to the FAX. It is a piece of paper that falls out of the machine and must be picked up and looked at even to destroy it. Not so with an email. Its physical nature gives it permanence. It requires that a person with proper authority handle it and it can only be thrown away when the matter has been handled.
Now to email. I agree that I would like to email the hotel, but it would likely get caught by a spam filter or never read, just like mine at my office. So, I email the Diamond Desk after sending the FAX. I will use something like the following: I have contacted the XXX Hilton over the matter of XXX by FAX, but I have yet to hear from them and their reply is needed. Do you have an email address I can use? The text of the FAX is attached. Thanks for your help. If you need additional info I can be reached at 123-456-7890.
In every case, the hotel has called within two hours.
