I wonder were he is also. mtacchi claimed that several flights were sold out and the flights would be operaed non-stop. Not that the media ever gets the story straight, but the article says 700 people will be getting refunds. 700 doesn't = several sold out 747-400 flights. A fuel stop in Russia doesn't sound non-stop to me. At the end of the article CEO of CWA Mohamed says he wants to compete in markets were there is a monopoly. There are plenty of one-stop, one connection flights to India from Canada and you don't have to make a fuel stop in Russia.
