Was at a conference in Taipei and we stayed that the Grand Hyatt. Every evening my colleagues and our business partners, men and women in both groups, finished the evening in the hotel bar with the live band. The live band appreciated the attention and made sure to play the favourite song of the group each night. One evening someone pulled a woman who was not from the group into the dancing circle. A female colleague whispered to me, "I think she might be a working girl." I smiled and pointed out all the women sitting around the edge of the bar sipping their tea and explained that tea was much cheaper than alcohol for someone who comes every night but isn't sure whether they will make any money that evening. She chuckled.

So they have to buy something, but it can just as easily be a pot of tea.
