Side note: It's truly sad, when a US owned network like CNN has more objective coverage on it's International channel than it's domestic one. Just coming back this week from Europe to the US, I can truly say that I'm now tuning out ALL US news channels and their continual brainwash drivel.</font>
The CNN example is particularly interesting, as the two different viewpoints come from the same company. In fact, aren't many of the CNN International broadcasts done live from CNN Center in Atlanta, in the same building as for the domestic channels?
I think "brainwashing" is a bit strong. I think it's more toward CNN providing the audience whaht it wants to hear. I've always found it interesting when traveling overseas to watch CNN International a bit in the hotel room - it definately has a different perspective.
One problem, especially with respect to the current situation regarding Iraq, is that it seems that a good number of Americans seems to view any stance that takes into account any country other than the US as being "anti-American." If domestic CNN were to take a more worldly approach, I think that there would be enough people upset that ratings would suffer significantly.
