I'm flying MNL-HKG-LAX on Monday morning and when I checked in this morning for the MNL-HKG segment, I also got checked in the HKG-LAX segment even though the flight departure is not until 2 hours from now.
Yes, I noticed that about three weeks back as well. I had a same-day return HKG-XMN-HKG, and when I checked in for the first leg, I could also check in for the return as well. The XMN-HKG was never available for online check-in before.
Yet, just this past weekend, I went to Xiamen again. Took HKG-XMN on Sat and return on Sunday. I could not online check-in for the XMN-HKG flight.
