I am currently using a Red Oxx XS Aviator bag as my personal item and seriously considering the PR4 as a replacement as it has a little more room, organizational capability and is easier to carry.

The Red Oxx website says this in the overview-
USE IT AS A PERSONAL ITEM.
Ladies, if you want to use this on your next flight, stick your purse inside this spacious bag's center compartment and use it as your "personal item" in conjunction with your primary carry-on, such as an Air Boss or Sky Train.
For the men out there, fill it to the brim, and travel in the same carry-on manner.
But in the faqs it says this-
Will the PR4 qualify as a personal item?
The PR4 is designed as more of a smaller carry-on than a personal item. You could try it as a personal item, but we don't guarantee the results.
My main carry on piece is a Osprey Farpoint 40 and even if my aviator bag is stuffed to the gills, I've never had it questioned as my personal item. I'm wondering if anyone has had any real life experience with the PR4 as their personal item and if so has it ever been questioned as a personal item item? I would also be interested in hearing if there were any problems with it fitting under the seat in front of you?
Thanks in advance!
p.s. I really like the Red Oxx but I am open to suggestions.
